It has to be said we find it hard to get enthusiastic about health and safety despite having had some close shaves ourselves in the cause of rock and roll, but there has never been a time when it is more on people’s minds following the recent deaths of the crew building Madonna's stage at Stade Velodrome in Marseilles (July 09).
It is worth pointing out that many problems arise due to standards not being consistent throughout the world and even when H&S rules do exist they are often disregarded for the sake of expediency.
