With new campuses and purpose built music and media schools popping up all over the UK we at FTTS are trawling through the myriad of course available to give you the low down on what's on offer, what the course(s) entail, how you get in, how much it costs and, by speaking with those already established in the industry, what the reality of actually getting work at the end of it all is... so watch this space... if you are already on a course and would like to recommend it, or not, as the case maybe, please do let us know... in the meantime check out Cliff Jones article 'Johnny Marr, the rock star turned teacher' Sunday Times18.01.09 "I'M ERUDITE NOW........."

At lower levels most bands only have a Tour Manager who also has to fulfil the role of Production Manager on larger tours the Production Manager is at the top of the heap and he will appoint a Tour Manager to look after the Travel and Accommodation arrangements for each tour. A good example of the is the Rolling Stones and U2 who both use the same Production Manager who everyone knows is Jake Berry, who knows who their Tour Managers are? The Stones used to have several, one for each main band member.

I have just started my second year with Access to Music (Brighton). I am on the Digital Musician level 3 2yr course & i would recomend this course to anyone thinking about taking on a music degree. ITS COOL ! WELL WORTH CHECKING OUT.
