I was recommended "signing up" to this very usefull looking site but I quickly discovered it's on invitation only and stupidly didn't get the number for the helpful chap who pointed me towards it. Is anyone on this forum on crewspace and can invite me, or are users guided towards only recommending crew they can vouch for 100% or have at least met and worked well with?

They seem very selective - I got an invite from someone and wasted a bunch of time filling in profile info. Eventually they declared that I did not have enough experience to be deemed professional, despite a host of well paid AV jobs over five years for blue chips and major festivals, which I had put in my profile.

Incidentally they never bothered to email me that I had been unsuccessful, or explained what had happened - it was only because the person who had invited me got an email demanding if I was up to scratch or not, that I learned this.

If there was a pub with such an entrance policy, I would not want to try again

Hmmmmmm [crewspace] is starting to sound like a bit of a clique thing going on there! Thanks for the reply tho, it may be that i don't yet have the CV i'd need to be successful anyway. Luckily i do seem to be getting bits of work in my own right, w/ out the likes of crewspace/Ukmusicjobs.com.

I've apparently had the same exact experience. It's been about 3 weeks and I've heard nothing from them. I'd actually be fairly annoyed if I found out they emailed the person who invited me.

A little off topic...don't know if these are any good? they often have the inductions at the studio I work at...
