My niece is studying event management and would like ultimately to move into festivals / big live events.

Can anyone recommend good books on the subject - ideally a non-fiction all you need to know, but anything related and interesting would be good..

I don't know of an everything you need to know, never need to read anything else title but "The Event Entertainment And Production" published in the Wiley Event Management Series and written by Mark Sonder is as good as anything.

There was a book in my college's library it was brilliant. but its gone now i booked it out last year. and now its not in stock. but another events management book that concentrates on gigs and festivals is a book called
Event Management
by Glenn Bowdin

another recommended read by my course tutors in event management have been

Events Management: An Integrated and Practical Approach
by Razaq Raj, Paul Walter, Mr Tahir Rashi.
