Music Live 2009 NEC Birmingham Today, Friday November 6th is Education Day and FTTS will be appearing, with friends, as below, in the  Get Experienced Festival Tent brought to you by Atom Live in conjunction with Access to Music.... hope to see you there!

Friends To The Stars presents:-

11am - John Mostyn - John is a  prominent music industry figure in the West Midlands, most notable for managing The Beat and later, Fine Young Cannibals.  He launched Ocean Colour Scene via his own Phffft label and was involved with launching the "2 Tone Records" label.  John is currently is very active in the industry and involved in developping new artists.  If you would like to come and have a chat, find out more about how the industry works from management to development he's your man.

12 am - Andy Corrigan - Re-Production - a tour and event production and hire company based in Suffolk.  Andy has many years of experience on the road first as singer in seminal punk band The Mekons and later as a  tour manager and sound engineer for bands such as The Human League, Gang of Four and Spiritualized.  Re-production welcomes enquiries from students and recent graduates looking for work experience places.

3pm - Paul Ward - MD and owner of Stagecraft - the biggest crewing service company in the Midlands with over 20 years experience.  2009 has been one of their busiest years yet with Download, Global Gathering, Lattitude, James Morrison etc, they are also the main crew for the NEC.  Crewing has been the springboard for many a career in the music industry with the likes of Noel Gallagher joining Inspiral Carpets as a roadie before joining his brother's band Oasis.  To find out more about the in's and out's of crewing and how to get in to the business come and see us.

4pm - John Armitage aka 'Deptford' - renowned rock & pop roadie and guitar tech extraordinaire.  John "Depftford' to his mates has just finished touring with Kylie and in the middle of rehearsals with Take That.  He has worked with everyone from Iron Maiden and Motorhead to The Spice Girls and all those in between - his ultimate rock gig being Spinal Tap at Wembley Stadium for Live 8 where John had 11 bass players to look after during one song!.  To find out more about the realities of touring with a major artist and how to get in to the business come and have a chat.  (John also runs his own 'Guitar Hospital').
